At the frontlines of their own ongoing, life-long battle, residents of ADI Jerusalem with cognitive developmental disabilities and complex medical issues soldiered up this week to become IDF recruits.
After much preparation and planning, ADI Jerusalem students fulfilled another dream, turning into soldiers for a day as they dressed in uniforms complete with berets and ranks. ADI’s creative National Service girls and outstanding volunteers outdid themselves again, decorating the premises with army signs and symbols and creating a color-schemed balloon-filled entrance.
In an impressive ceremony, ADI soldiers took their places in formation to watch a short film in which IDF enlisters saluted “our soldiers”, sending them greetings and praising them as “Israel’s true fighters”.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, ADI’s soldiers distributed specially prepared gift packages to the visiting IDF regulars.
