Back to school means back to sports and ADI Moriah residents and Hapoel Gedera are doing both.
The Gedera sports club and ADI Moriah initiated a special new sports project, Red Heart, featuring two unique teams in which players are residents from various ADI Moriah programs. The teams will be accompanied by counselors, junior league players, and will train with coaches from ADI’s professional staff.
ADI Forman, Cultural Activities coordinator, and Esther Zilber, head physiotherapist, showed up for the team’s season opener on August 28. This was the first time team members and their parents met participants from the special group.
Club staff addressed members and parents and emphasized that fact that while professionalism and expertise are important, they believe that “good principles are more important than proficiency”. As such, they view the new teams as an educational and social act advancing acceptance and encouraging mutual responsibility.
ADI staff provided parents with a general explanation of the defining characteristics of the people they will be meeting this year and emphasized the wonderful opportunity established to advance residents as equals within society.
As the season opens, we are rooting for success!
