A Vote of Confidence for ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran

In an ongoing vote of confidence for the dedicated work on behalf of people with disabilities at the ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitative Village, the government of Israel, under the leadership of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, passed a government resolution supporting the construction of the Negev’s first Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation Hospital, development of village activity including extended family support and advancement of ADI’s Tikkun Olam educational program to teach acceptance and inclusion of the other in Israeli society to children and youth.

Upon confirmation of the government resolution, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted:

“In 2016, as Minister of Education, I was privileged to bestow the Award for Lifetime Achievement on Doron Almog, who founded the Negev Rehabilitation Village for children with special needs with his own two hands for his son Eran, z”l. Yesterday, I instructed continued progress for ADI Negev vision – development of the village’s rehabilitation hospital, general development of the village, a support system for families and an educational plan to modify our perception of the other.

There are two important issues in this story:

  1. This resolution truly entails good news for the residents of the south.
  2. Doron, founder of the rehabilitation village, is not only a champion of the vulnerable within Israel’s society, he is a brave soldier who saved hostages during Operation Entebbe and as commander of elite IDF units. An Israeli social, military and ethical hero who risked his life for the security of Israel and dedicated his life to the benefit of Israeli society. He lost his brother in the Yom Kippur War, and never experienced the joy of having his son, named after his brother Eran, call him “Abba.”

This is a story of Zionism and compassion.

What a Nation we have!”

We need your support!

By donating to ADI Israel, YOU will help us meet our goal to enable each child, regardless of the severity of disability.
